Detailed Installation Instructions-Windows
The minimum system requirements are a Pentium 200MHz with 64MB RAM, and at least 5MB of
hard-drive space. It works with Internet Explorer 4.0 or later (Internet Explorer 5 or later is recommended) as well as Netscape
Communicator 4.0 or any later.
1. Sign
up for SpeedWeb service.
2. Download the SpeedWeb software
to your computer. It is recommended that you download the software to your desktop.
3. Install the software by double-clicking on the icon on the desktop. The installer will guide you through the process.
4. Change the phone number
from the one you use normally used to connect to CalWeb to a number that ends in -1856. You can also
create a new dial-up connection for CalWeb.
5. Connect to CalWeb using the Speedweb number. As this is your first time launching the product, you will be prompted for a
username and password. Enter the username (i.e. joeuser,
no @calweb.com) and password you use to connect to CalWeb in the fields provided. (See example below)

Click OK. SpeedWeb will connect to CalWeb. After installing the SpeedWeb Web Accelerator, an icon as shown below is placed
in your system tray.

Opening any web browser launches SlipStream Web Accelerator.
SpeedWeb will then be active. On some Windows platforms a bubble icon will appear when
the SlipStream Service has been established. On all other Windows platforms, you can verify that SlipStream Service has been
established by hovering over the SlipStream tray icon (you should see a "SlipStream Service Enabled..." message). You
will also notice the SlipStream icon blinking. SpeedWeb will also automatically load when you start up your computer.
6. Browse the Web as you normally. When finished, simply close your
browser as you normally would, and SpeedWeb will remain idle in your system tray. To check the compression statistics, right-click
on the SpeedWeb icon and select Statistics.
If you want to stop the application after browsing select Stop SlipStream from
the pop-up menu, or if you desire to exit the application completely, click Exit from the pop-up menu.
